Ahmed Mohamed, the 14-year-old Muslim boy who was arrested in Texas after his homemade clock was mistaken for a possible bomb will be moving with his family to a region where some would say there’s a much deeper appreciation for young men who excel at making homemade clocks. Ahmed, aka Clock Boy, and his family are moving to the Middle East (Qatar)
Mohamed accepted a scholarship offer, which will cover the costs of his secondary and undergraduate education, to study in the Qatar Foundation’s Young Innovators Programme.
So yesterday, Ahmed Mohamed met with President Obama. He didn’t build a clock and to be quite frank, he didn’t do anything. He made a ruckus and was rewarded for it.
End of story.
Ahmed was not invited to the White House based on merit. He wasn’t invited to the White House because of his unique intelligence. He was invited to the White House because our President takes no issue in using kids as political props and throwing them out like garbage right after.
Completely disgusting.
While Clock kid get’s an invite to the White House and a chance to embrace our President, Kate Steinle’s family never got a phone call. While Ahmed get’ an invite to the White House, the families of fallen police officers, who’s lives have been greatly affected by the War On Cops, waged by our very own President, don’t even get a letter.
So to the family of Kate Steinle and to the families of those who lost their lives protecting and serving, I stand with you. America stands with you- even when our President doesn’t.
