Similar to the horrid blast in the small town of Suruç back in July, where young people from the Federation of Socialist Youth Associations had gathered for a press conference before a planned visit to Kobani to assist with its reconstruction–this new attack in Ankara is targeting the most beautiful components of the Turkish society ,
its defiant, determined, idealist youth refusing to be idle witness to a ghastly ethnic jingoism of one sort or another . ISIS is nothing but a code name for this diabolic degeneration of ruling regimes targeting determined aspirations of people to leave in peace in pluralistic democracies the ruling Turkish government and the deep militarist state behind it are integral to this problem and in no position to solve it .
My solidarity with friends and colleagues in Turkey and deepest condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in this terrible incident.
