However, you’d find it pretty fascinating to realize that Instagram has really crossed the boundaries of simply taking and uploading images. It’s slowly taking a complete ‘Facebook’ route by adding new features, advertisements and sponsorship.

But wait… Does that mean that Instagram is the Facebook of tomorrow and we the uncool generation? *Existential crisis ensues* Without fixating too much on the cycle of life, let’s move onto one specific feature: asking questions. Sounds awesome, right? Seriously though, there are a whole lot of ways that IG allows you to do this. Here they are:

Instagram Stories

This is the good old fashioned way of going about it. An update quite a while back allowed you to simply tap the text bar at the bottom of any user’s story (who had that option enabled) and send them a text or question of your liking, preferably related to the story in question.

Since the social media gods blessed us with the said feature, we no longer have to worry about initiating awkward conversations with our crush by sending a ‘hi’. We can do that by sending a question instead.

How to Reply to Instagram Stories?

• Open the story you’d like to reply to.
• Swipe up on the screen.
• Tap Send message on the bottom of screen or click on cam icon to send a disappearing video or photo.
• Click on Send.

The Question Box Thingy

This one is confusing to describe but stay with me on this. Go swipe into your story camera. Click a picture and open the emoji toolkit that IG offers you. You should find a white box labeled “QUESTIONS”. Quite easy to spot if you ask me. You can ask people questions who have the “QUESTIONS” box up in their stories. Kinda obvious, I know. You can even customize the tag to ask them to ask you something specific. Moreover, your username remains hidden if they choose to respond to your question via their story. Handy, right?

How do you ask a Question on Instagram?

Step 1 : Click or upload a photo or video to Stories. Tap the Sticker button on the top-right corner of the screen.

Step 2 : Click on the ‘QUESTIONS’ sticker and you are all set to ask your followers a question.

3. Polls

This last one can be extremely useful or completely useless depending on what you want to ask. Let’s just say… If something you want to ask has answers that’re polar in nature, Polls are the way to go.

How to take Polls on Instagram?

• Click or upload a photo or video to your stories and click on Sticker button appearing on the top-right corner of the screen (as done above).
• Tap the POLL sticker.

• Add your Poll question and place it wherever in the story you want.
