Only in the Philippines do we have a strong mall culture. When it’s too hot, you can linger inside the mall. When you need to do your grocery shopping, go to the mall. If you need something, you can wear it to the mall you go to. Are you in a hurry after an errand? Then you can grab something by the mall.
By definition, as Wikipedia says, it is “a large indoor shopping center, usually anchored by department stores.” Its appeal is that these malls have plenty of functions for the Filipino consumer. In the metro, you get the biggest and some of the most multifunctional spaces; some malls have open spaces and areas where you can walk. In addition, some spaces are dedicated to certain consumer niches. One such example is the electronics section for Shoemart’s mall chains, the Cyberzone section.
With the rise of development in rural areas, though, it has become easier to access high-tech and quality goods and other consumer items. Major malls, in particular, carry bigger brands.
Although Manila may carry the best items, the shopping centers in La Union can help you fill the special void that supermalls and other malls in Metro Manila have.
CSI Mall La Union
CSI Mall is the major shopping mall in La Union. It is part of the CSI Mall chain. It was built earlier than Manna Mall – this fact explains why CSI Mall is more prominent to La Union natives compared to the other mall. You can find many brands in CSI Mall La Union; the most prominent are Lee, RRJ, Bench, Penshoppe, Nike, Dickies, Rusty Lopez, Nisce’s Skin, Gibi Shoes, Anson, and others.
You’ll find a wide variety of offerings inside CSI Mall La Union. If you want a street food fix, you can get it there. Fastfood Filipino favorites are also there if you want your KFC, Jollibee, and McDonald’s. CSI Mall also offers three (3) cinemas to watch that action flick or blockbuster movie you want.
Awesome Hotel is also around the area, but you must take public transportation. Fortunately, CSI Mall La Union easily gets by with a tricycle, jeepney, and others.
You can find CSI Mall at Barangay Biday, San Fernando La Union, Luzon 2500, Philippines.
Robinsons Place La Union
Next, you have Robinsons Place La Union. This is one of the largest malls ever opened in La Union. Robinsons Place La Union opened just this 2021, three (3) years ago. You can find this mall in San Fernando, La Union.
For Elyucanos, Robinsons Place La Union also serves as an all-in-one spot for weekend tourists’ shopping and dining needs. It also is a multifunctional, fun, and entertaining haven for locals who want to amuse themselves and buy their needs.
Another great perk of Robinsons’ Place is its location. Its strategic location on MacArthur Highway also makes it an ideal stopover for those driving to Pangasinan, Baguio, and Ilocos Sur.
Night Market SFC
Lastly, we have the Night Market SFC. You can only go to La Union by dropping by its Night Market! If you want to curb your fix for street food, then the Night Market is perfect for you! It’s got shawarma, isaw, barbecue, and other Filipino meals like Dinakdakan.
The Night Market operates from 6 pm-midnight. It is a very hygienic place to eat and buy things. In addition, it is easy to find; the Night Market is located between the Round Market and Mart One Mall.
Wrapping Up
Some of the best malls are quiet and have all your needs. Size does not dictate everything. Rather, what matters most in a shopping area is that it carries what you need and has other purposes.
