During the day, many of us need to find some information, whether it is material for completing an assignment for school, work, university, or simply a query out of curiosity about anything. Almost 90% of all people use the Google search engine to find answers.
Of course, it is impossible not to agree that it is fast and convenient and that you can always trust what is written there. Unfortunately, the answer is no. The algorithms of this search engine are not fully known to us, but a significant role is played by site visits and the purchase of advertising itself in Google. For example, you decided that you want to find all the crucial information about social media app development and enter this query, and here we see the first two websites labeled advertising, after them several well-known platforms and then simply dozens of platforms that provide such services. It is very easy to get lost in this, especially if there will be irrelevant information on the web pages, and you will waste your time in vain.
Dozens of such examples can be given. Of course, Google is a beneficial and fast search engine, but you should not limit yourself only to it. Let’s figure out what other ways to find information exist.
Use social networks
First of all, we perceive social networks as a place to relax and watch exciting content, but it is also a field for searching for information. YouTube, LinkedIn or Instagram, and even in some cases Tik Tok contain exciting materials that will help you find answers to your questions. People who are professionals in their field are registered on these platforms, and their pages on social networks often share them through articles, posts, or videos. Therefore, the next time you have a query, try to search for it there as well.
Check the capabilities of other search engines
In addition to Google, there are other search engines such as Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, and many others. Since the number of users on these platforms is much smaller, they try to win at the expense of other advantages. For example, it is more privacy of your data. Plus, due to other algorithms on these search engines, you will be able to see high-quality and reliable websites that, due to their lower traffic, were not shown to you in the first few pages of Google. And if you are the kind of person who has a website yourself, then placing it on various search engines is an excellent chance to attract new potential customers.
Look for original sources
Books, articles, manuscripts – things that average people will soon forget about. Perhaps you once heard from your parents or grandparents about how in their youth, they spent a lot of time in libraries in search of the necessary material for completing tasks or, in general, for better knowledge of a particular topic. Yes, although the option to look for information in a book seems too long at first glance, don’t be too lazy to do it. After all, in this way, you will receive 100 percent reliable information, of which you will be sure.
